sure enough, just as another reviewer warned, the internal drive gear broke after about 20 houts of use. now it is useless.

I had hoped the saw could be disconnected from the pole to work on its own similar to the Remington 8" polesaw model. The pole is not telescopic. I found it difficult to see where I was cutting when fully stretched.

I've been using this trimmer for a few months now and it is awesome. I didn't think a little thing on the end of a pole would be very powerful, but this thing can cut through 3 inch branches like butter.
Just make sure that you read the instructions and use chain oil.
I'm very, very unhappy that I didn't get this MUCH sooner. If I only knew how awesome it was.
The only Con is that it is a one piece construction, so it must be stored some place with enough space.

Item works very well. Is top heavy when fully extended.
Chain needs frequent tightening initially.

Perfect product for cutting small branches and general yard trim work. Low cost but rugged enough to do a 3 inch branch. Plus, light weigh and easy to handle for an old guy like me.
